The mineral-geochemical characteristics of Shuanghuajiang Uranium Deposit
Creators
Description
The mineral-geochemical characteristics of Shuanghuajiang uranium deposit is introduced. At this area only secondary U minerals (without any primary U mineral) are found from the surface to the depth of 445m. The uranium isotope ratio 234U/238U, the content of ancient uranium and chemical compositions of various rocks have been studied. The results show that the uranium deposit belongs to an infiltration deposit. Uranium source of the uranium deposit is from Yanshanian granite and not from Indosinian granite. The uranium isotope ratio 234U/238U of Yanshanian granite is smaller than 1 (0.08 - 0.978), whereas that of Indosinian granite is greater than 1 (1.038 - 1.058). In addition, the Yanshanian cataclatic granite provides silicon and calcium for uranophane that is a mainly valuable mineral in the uranium deposit
