The Konrad repository on its way to completion. Construction progress is unmistakable - but there is still a lot to do until 2027
Description
The Konrad repository is the first repository in Germany to be approved under the Atomic Energy Act. The permit (planning approval decision) was issued in 2002 by the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment, Energy, Construction and Climate Protection (NMU). The Federal Administrative Court confirmed it in the last instance in 2007.

Das Endlager Konrad ist das erste nach Atomgesetz genehmigte Endlager Deutschlands. Die Genehmigung (Planfeststellungsbeschluss) wurde 2002 vom niedersächsischen Ministerium für Umwelt, Energie, Bauen und Klimaschutz (NMU) erteilt. Das Bundesverwaltungsgericht hat sie 2007 in letzter Instanz bestätigt.Additional details
