Energy supply in Austria and Switzerland - an informative comparison

Creators

Description

Energy supplies, in general, and the need for power station construction, in particular, are discussed in Austria to an increasing extent and consideration is being given to the position in neighbouring countries. Austria and Switzerland have comparable climates and economic structures, limited fossil fuel resources and an increasing energy consumption despite efforts at frugal and rational use of energy. Even with these similarities there are differing trends in primary energy and electricity consumption and in the rates of change. These differences are highlighted and discussed with the aid of statistical data. (P.G.R.)
