Chromosome aberrations induced in human lymphocytes by U-235 fission neutrons. Pt. 2
Description
Blood samples were spiked with Na-24 to study the separate effect of this nuclide on the incidence of chromosomal aberrations in neutron irradiated blood samples. A delay of 96 h was allowed before cultivation, so the results of chromosomal aberration analysis could be compared with the results obtained by direct irradiation of blood samples with U-235 fission neutrons. The absorbed dose was calculated using a simple conservative model. From the results obtained we can conclude that Na-24 alone was not the reason for the difference in the incidence of chromosomal aberrations between blood samples cultivated immediately after 'in vitro' irradiation by U-235 fission neutrons and samples which were cultivated after 96 h storage. Abstract (German)
Den Blutproben wurde Na-24 zugegeben, und dadurch wurde die separate Auswirkung dieses Radionuklides auf das Erscheinen von Chromosomenaberrationen in den mit Neutronen bestrahlten Blutproben beobachtet. Die Blutproben wurden mit 96stuendiger Zeitverschiebung kultiviert, wodurch der Vergleich mit den Resultaten, gewonnen bei direkter Bestrahlung der Blutproben mit U-235 Fissionsneutronen, ermoeglicht wurde. Die absorbierte Dosis wurde unter Anwendung des einfachen konservativen Modells errechnet. Aus den gewonnenen Resultaten laesst sich folgendes feststellen: Na-24 allein war kein Grund fuer den Unterschied beim Erscheinen der Chromosomenaberrationen zwischen den Blutproben, die sofort nach 'In-vitro'-Bestrahlung mit U-235 Fissionsneutronen kultiviert wurden, und denen, die mit 96stuendiger Zeitverschiebung kultiviert worden waren.
