Metabolizm and acceleration of excretion of the inhaled americium-241
Description
Tests on white rats, subjected to the inhalation of americium-241, showed the main organs of radionuclide deposition were the lungs, the liver and the skeleton, the percentages of inhaled amounts being 23.1, 6.3 and 2.9, respectively. Effectivity of DTPA treatment of rats depended on the manner of introduction. Inhalation of pentacyn (10μM) had the same effect as parenteral and peroral introduction of 100 and 500 μM, respectively
