Description

If the S-meson is assumed to be a baryonium state composed of an isospin one diquark and antidiquark, it will be produced in anti p p reactions as a mixture of I = O and I = 1 baryonium states. The experimentally observed large ratio of the cross sections of the reactions anti p p → S → anti p p and anti p p → S0 → anti n n is then explained on basis of quark additivity and conservation of isospin in the s-channel. The model predicts: delta (anti p p → S0 → anti p p): delta(anti p p → S0 → anti n n): delta (anti p n → S → anti p n) = 25 : 1 : 16. (orig.)
