Description

Two spheroid cation exchangers (Ostion LG KS, Aminex A-5) were compared concerning their application for chromatographic separation of lanthanides and transpluotnium elements. The values of separation factors are tabulated together with values for a fine sized fraction of irregular particles of ground ion-exchanger Dowex 50 X-4. The values of separation factors for the two spheroid ion exchangers were found to be higher as compared with those for Dowex 50. It is shown that the advantages of spheroid ion-exchangers with particle size around 10 μm can be exploited even in a technically very simple experimental arrangement, i.e., in a regime of low-pressure elution.
