Temperature-dependent amorphisation of iron boride Fe3B under neutron irradiation
- 1. Russian Federation Research Center, ''Kurchatov Inst.'', Moscow (Russian Federation)
Description
A Moessbauer effect study of Fe3B irradiated at temperatures from 365 to 625 K has shown that amorphisation proceeds only below T∼400 K. The results are compared with the calculations for quench and recrystallization rates in thermal spikes and interpreted as exclusion of the most energetic cascades from the amorphisation process with temperature rise.
