Peculiarities of dose reconstruction by EPR spectra of tooth enamel exposed to a combined effect of x-rays and gamma radiation
Description
Using tooth enamel EPR dosimetry it was shown that, in the case of a combined effect of X-rays with the effective energy 34 keV and gamma radiation with average gamma quantum energy 1250 keV, the reconstructed dose considerably exceeded actual doses from the gamma radiation source or from the X-rays source or from both sources of electromagnetic radiation. In model experiments an approach was developed to assess the contribution of diagnostic X-rays in the cumulative dose formed by combined effect of X-rays and gamma radiation on the tooth enamel.
