Structure MIS effects on polarization of HgI2 crystals used for gamma-ray detection
Description
The use of the semiconducting Mercuric Iodide as an X and delta-ray detector is limited by the polarization taking place in the material. We present a study of this polarization and two experimental methods to get rid of it (long time interband illumination or positively polarized MIS structure). Finally, we propose an explanation of the phenomenon
