Leading-order corrections to the Nambu action

Description
The leading-order corrections to the Nambu action for a Nielsen-Olesen vortex string are calculated. Apart from a Polyakov term, which seems to have a minimal effect on the equations of motion, the leading-order corrections appear at fourth order in the string thickness, and depend on scalar functionals of the ''twist'' and extrinsic curvature of the world sheet
