Digital scanning, tunable dye laser for spectroanalytical methods

An easily constructed and relatively low cost digital scanning tunable dye laser was designed and constructed. The laser was obtained from a commercial programmable monochromator modified with dye cell and mirror attachments. It is pumped by a nitrogen laser and operated in the spectral range 358 to 641 nm. using eight dyes. Pulse duration is less than 10 nsec. and pulse repetition rate is 0 to 20 pulses/sec continuously or up to 100 pulses/sec in short bursts
