Description

The data from an experiment by the E665 collaboration on hadron production in deep inelastic scattering on deuterium and xenon are analyzed in order to test the effect of nuclear rescattering on particle distributions, with reference to a previously proposed phenomenological model of the rescattering process. In spite of the poor statistics and of the uncertain reliability of the experimental data, the paper concludes that the model studied is likely to provide a satisfactory explanation of most of the features exhibited in the data behaviour
