Effective dose equivalent and standardization problems in case of using radiopharmaceuticals

Description

Necessity of normalization of introduced radiopharmaceutics activity according to effective equivalent dose to restrict the remote somatic-stochastic and genetic radiation effects is substantiated. A system of maximum permissible radiation doses for 3 categories of patients: oncological patients, nononcological and examined patients, is suggested. It is shown that qualitatively similar results for children and grown up people may be obtained by 1) introduction of similar activity independent of age; 2) introduced activity is proportional to patient weight; 3) the ratio between the introduced activity and patient weight is 2/3. 22 refs.; 2 tabs
