Equipment for mechanized ultrasonic inspection of primary circuit components of earlier nuclear power stations

Whereas for modern nuclear power stations the requirements of in-service inspections are largely taken into account in the design stage, older plants impose limitations due to their geometry and their boundary conditions. Special manipulators have been developed for these purposes to meet the requirements of the authorities even in those areas. These manipulators are used together with modern probe systems, ultrasonic electronic units and data evaluation systems, so that the whole inspection procedure is equivalent to that employed in modern power stations
