A preliminary analysis on metallogenetic conditions and perspectives of the uranium-bearing volcanic belt in region east of Jining, Inner Mongolia
Description
The east area of Jining of Inner Mongolia is considered as a more perspective uranium-bearing volcanic belt. On the basis of expounding the geological background of the region, the relationship between volcanism of the belt and the plate movement is discussed. Basic principles for giving terminology of volcanic basins and their classification are proposed. According to these principles, a systematic classification of volcanic basins in the region is made and their essential characteristics and the main features of uranium mineralization in the region are summarized. It is noted that uranium-bearing volcanic basins of the region are of superimposed collapse-type, superimposed subsidence-type and superimposed fault subsidence-type, and the favorable ore formation conditions of which are also discussed. As a result of these discussions, a synthetical analysis of uranium ore formation conditions of the region has been made giving a prognostication of six volcanic basins as first class favorable area and eight volcanic basins as second class perspective ones and the direction for prospecting work in the region are indicated
