Results of the 5th regular inspection of Unit 2 in the Takahama Power Station
Description
The 5th regular inspection of Unit 2 in the Takahama Power Station was carried out in the period of November, 1981, to June, 1982. Inspection was made on the reactor proper, reactor cooling system, fuel facility, radiation control, etc. By the examinations of external appearance, leakage, performance, etc., the following failures were observed: damage in the support lattices for fuel-assembly, peening momentum fluxes exceeding the standard in core baffle plates, and the abnormality in the heating tubes of steamgenerators. The personnel radiation exposure doses during the inspection were all below the permissible levels. Improvement and other works made during the inspection were as follows: In the corners where the standard momentum flux was exceeded in peening, the joint gaps were corrected properly. The heating tubes of steam-generators showing abnormality were plugged. (Mori, K.)
