The content and distribution of 239,240Pu in soil-plant cover of nearer action zone of the Leningrad APS
Description
Contamination density of the soil cover in the 10-km zone around the Leningrad NPP varries within the range of 104-262 Bq/m2 and that of grass plants and moss is 0.01-0.2 and 0.2-14 Bq/m2 respectively. The character of Pu distribution and depth of migration into the soil are determined by the soil type and its genetic structure. Determination of large quantities of Pu (36-55%) at the depth of 14(15)-24(25) cm is an indication of its intensive migration in podzolic soils. 9 refs., 3 tabs
