Description
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to increase the embolism effect of radiolabelled lipiodol to increase the contact time with the tumor, to promote irradiation, the tumor penetration and tumor cell anoxia. Conclusions: These results suggest the new tested formulations could be efficient vectors for metabolic radiotherapy of hepatocellular carcinomas, because they are causing a significant increase of the tumor uptake and possibly of a reduction of pulmonary and hepatic side effects.
