Surface hardening of austenitic stainless steel 12Kh18N10T by pulse ion-plasma irradiation

Description
The surface of austenitic stainless steel 12Kh18N10T after irradiation by a pulsed ion-plasma beam at a coaxial plasma accelerator is investigated by metallographic and electron microscopic methods. The increase of microhardness of the irradiated layer is shown to be conditioned by plastic deformation of the surface under pulse irradiation
