Thermal decomposition studies of monodispersed core and core-shell γ-Fe2O3@Mn2O3 nanoparticles

  • 1. Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

Monodispersed γ-Fe2O3 and γ-Fe2O3@Mn2O3 nanoparticles were prepared by thermolysis method. Particles were coated with oleic acid molecules to make monodispersed. The amount of oleic acid is calculated from TGA curve. Thermal decomposition of oleic acid molecules and phase transition of γ-Fe2O3 to another phase at higher temperature is discussed here. With Mn2O3 incorporation as shell, the temperature corresponding to the phase transition decreases. (author)
