On the thermodynamic properties of VNsub(x)

Description
The results of the temperature dependence of the specific heat Csub(p) and superconducting transition temperature Tsub(c) for cubic vanadium nitrides of five compositions (VNsub(0.985), VNsub(0.97), VNsub(0.885), VNsub(0.87) and VNsub(0.86)) are reported. The experimental values for some thermodynamic parameters and their dependence on the nitrogen concentration are obtained. By extrapolation of the concentration dependence of these parameters the corresponding values of stoichiometric VN are found. The extrapolated values are compared with the theoretical ones. On the basis of the experimental results an attempt is made to explain some peculiarities of the concentration dependence of the measured parameters. (Auth.)
