Electrophysical properties of transition metal oxides

Description

The study of electric conductivity and melting temperatures of oxides of d-transition metals of neighbouring groups and neighbouring periods is carried out to clarify regularities of their change depending on the number of electrons on d-shell of metal isolated atom and the increase of the main quantum number of its valent electrons. Temperature dependences of electric conductivity of compounds are presented. According to slope of curves log σ approximately f (1/T) for rectilinear sections at high temperature the activation energies of current carriers are calculated. It is shown that high statistical weight of vacant and completely occupied configurations is responsible for ion constituent of the bond and statistical weight of semioccupied configurations depends on the bond covalence
