Description
The method of current-voltage measurements in the 1-50 V/s range of polarization rates was used to study oxidation of oxygen containing Mo(6) compounds on an anode of glassy carbon in the KCl-NaCl (00 deg C) melt. Electrochemical stability of Mo(6) compounds decreases in the series MoO42->MoO3>Mo2O72-. Change in acidic main properties of (PO3-, Ca2+, F-) melt does not essentially affect the kinetics and the mechanism of the anode process. Addition of strong acids (of Al3+ type) result in decomposition of the mentioned compounds with formation of Mo oxides and oxychlorides of lower valence
