Superficial flaw detection in conductive solids by eddy current methods

  • 1. Institute of Technical Physics, 47 Splai Bahlui, P.O.Box 20-27, 6600 Iasi 1, (Romania)

Description

The purpose of this work consists in elaborating a model for the interaction between an eddy current transducer with orthogonal coils as patented by the authors and a material defect in the form of a hole processed within a conductive half-space. An approximate solution is given for the vector potential by means of which the induced electromotive force in the transducer is calculated. The theoretical and experimental results are compared by using the 30 analyzing systems, the prediction being performed with a good probability. (Author)
