Velocity measurements in AGR boiler models providing data for 2-D boiler codes
Description
An experimental programme has been carried out to determine the by-pass friction factor and cross flow resistance parameter for the boilers of two AGR power stations. Laser doppler anemometry was used to measure the velocity development through models of sections of these boilers installed in an atmospheric wind tunnel. A finite difference computer code was used to analyse the data by solving the gas side momentum equations and comparing predictions with measurements. The results have been used as input to 2-dimensional boiler codes. (author)
