Description
The project attempts a quantitative assessment of risks for three carcinogenics that are common in sites of long-standing pollution. Benzo(a)pyrene stands for the group of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, cadmium for heavy metals, and benzene for volatile aromatic compounds. The report discusses the general fundamentals of exposure and risk assessment. The exposure model is described in detail and applied to the three test substances. (orig./MG)

Das Arbeitsziel dieses Projektes besteht darin, eine quantitative Risikoabschaetzung fuer kanzerogene Stoffe, die haeufig in Altlasten auftreten, vorzunehmen. Die polyzyklischen aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffe werden durch Benzo(a)pyren repraesentiert. Aus der Gruppe der Schwermetalle wird Cadmium betrachtet, und Benzol dient als Vertreter fluechtiger, aromatischer Verbindungen. In dem vorliegenden Bericht werden die allgemeinen Grundlagen fuer die Expositionsabschaetzung und Risikobewertung erlaeutert. Das Expositionsmodell wird ausfuehrlich beschrieben und auf die drei genannten Stoffe angewandt. (orig./MG)
