Study on thermal expansion mean coefficient of tungsten-niobium system

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Vysokikh Temperatur

Description

The average thermal expansion coefficient of tungsten-niobium alloys was investigated in the range of 500-1200 K. The investigations were carried out in the concentration range of 0-30 at.% Nb. A deflection was detected in the region of approximately 15 at.%Nb on the concentration dependence of the average thermal expansion coefficient. This change of the thermal expansion coefficient in the solid solution region of the binary phase diagram points to some transformation in the concentration range under study
