Kinetics of equimolar solid solution formation in the ZnS-CdS system
- 1. Saratovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)
Description
Formation kinetics of equimolar solid solution in the system ZnS-CdS at the temperature of approximately 700-800 deg C is studied using roentgenography. It is established that homogenizing process is going in two stages. The first fast stage is apparently determined by the rate of evaporation and surface diffusion of cadmium sulfide over the surface of zinc sulfide grains. These processes depend significantly on the temperature. The second stage is a limiting one and is connected with zinc unilateral diffusion into cadmium sublattice through the layer of forming solid solution
