The role of technology often features amidst the dynamics of the energy transition, but much uncertainty remains about the widespread dissemination of low-carbon innovations. Cost, the speed of adoption and acceptance of technologies are basic parameters for carbon emission reduction, along with their impact on resources. Lithium is a testing ground to analyze dependence on materials in vehicle electrification scenarios on a global scale. (authors)
