Use of sapropel fertilizers on contaminated soils
Description
Increasing of content of organic substance in soils not only increases the crop of agricultural production, but contributes to decreasing of the content of radionuclides into cultivated plants by sorption of radionuclides by gumins and fulvoacids of humus. Use of sapropel is of large interest in that connection. Sapropel fertilizers substantially influence on penetration of radionuclides into grain and straw of barley. So, use of siliceous and carbonate sapropels decreases penetration of Cesium-137 into the grain of barley for 12.4-50.0%, into straw - for 29.4- 47.1%. Correspondingly, decreasing of penetration of Strontium-90 is 11.0-13.7% and 13.2-32.1%. Use of siliceous sapropel increases the crop of cereal up to 0.65 ton per hectare. The results of chemical analysis of cereal show that with increase of the dose of sapropel there is a tendency of increasing the content of chemical analogs of radionuclides considered - potassium and calcium. The optimal dose of use of sapropel fertilizers from economic point of view the dose 60-80 ton per hectare should be considered. 5 tabs
