Hydrogen permeation wall
Description
A hydrogen permeation wall of sufficient stability, which is protected against deposits of dirt and is easy to manufacture is produced by support of metal foils selectively permeable by hydrogen on both sides by fine meshed metal grids. The surface of such an arrangement is preferably increased by folding or corrugation. A further coarser support behind the fine-meshed grid can be useful. Coatings preventing diffusion or protecting against corrosion on the fine metal grid can appreciably increase the life of the arrangement. (orig./PW)

Durch beidseitige Abstuetzung mit einem feinmaschigen Metallnetz selektiv wasserstoffdurchlaessiger Metallfolien wird eine Wasserstoff-Permeationswand mit ausreichender Stabilitaet erhalten, die vor Schmutzablagerung geschuetzt und fertigungstechnisch guenstig ist. Vorzugsweise wird die Flaeche einer solchen dreilagigen Anordnung durch Faeltelung oder Wellung vergroessert. Hinter dem an die Folie angrenzenden feinmaschigen Gewebe kann eine weitere groebere Stuetzstruktur zweckmaessig sein. Diffusionshemmende oder korrosionsschuetzende Ueberzuege auf dem feinen Metallgewebe koennen die Lebensdauer der Anordnung erheblich verlaengern. (orig./PW)Additional details
