Simulation of the measure of the microparticle size distribution in two dimensions

Description

For the nuclear ceramic industry, the determination of the porous size distribution is very important to predict the dimensional thermal stability of uranium dioxide sintered pellets. The determination of the grain size distribution is still very important to predict the operation behavior of these pellets, as well as to control the fabrication process. The Saltykov method is commonly used to determine the microparticles size distribution. A simulation for two-dimensions, using this method and the size distribution of cords to calculate the area distribution

Abstract (Portuguese)

Para a industria ceramica nuclear, a determinacao da distribuicao de tamanho de poro e de fundamental importancia para predizer a estabilidade termica dimensional de pastilhas sinterizadas de dioxido de uranio. A determinacao da distribuicao de tamanho de grao tambem e importante para predizer o comportamento em operacao destas pastilhas, bem como para o controle do processo de sua fabricacao. O metodo de Saltykov e comumente usado para determinar a distribuicao de tamanho de microparticulas. Fez-se uma simulacao para duas dimensoes, utilizando-se distribuicoes de tamanho de cordas para calcular as distribuicoes de areas. (E.G.)
