The method of production of carrier-free Cobalt 57 radionuclide

Description
Radiochemical technology of Co57 production was elaborated. The target of enriched nickel 58 is irradiated by protons and then is solved in hydrochloric acid solution. The sorption of Co57 is made in extraction chromatography columns with trioctylamine(TOA) sorptive material preliminary washed with 3 mole/L hydrochloric acid as sorptive material also teflon with the amount not less then 20% of TOA. Cobalt 57 extracted from column, is concentrated till 8 mole/L on hydrochloric acid, then its sorption is made in column with anion exchange resin preliminary washed with 8 mole/L hydrochloric acid. The solution obtained is concentrated till 8 mole/L on hydrochloric acid, then the sorption is made in the second column with anion exchange resin preliminary washed first with 8 mole/L hydrochloric acid then with pure alcohol. The column is blown with dry clean air and Co57 is elutriated with bi distilled water. (author)
