An improved algorithm processor for on-line information systems

  • 1. C-E Power Systems, Combustion Engineering, Inc., 1000 Prospect Hill Road, Post Office Box 500, Windsor, Connecticut 06095-0500

Description

There is a need to improve the ability to monitor the performance of components and systems. This would directly benefit the operator by providing plant overview information for a structured approach to employing or restoring the performance of fluid systems during unanticipated transients. The algorithm processor that was developed features a library of FORTRAN templates used to accommodate the various types of components and instruments normally contained within a fluid system. Each template is used to define conditions of performance for a component or process instrument. This paper provides an overview of the algorithm processor that was developed and describes its application in the monitoring system that was developed for the Electric Power Research Institute
