Procedure for the fabrication of ceramic fuel pellets with an adjustable structure
Description
The invention has been aimed at a procedure for the fabrication of ceramic fuel pellets with an adjustable structure preferably of UO2, PuO2, ThO2 and their mixtures. A control of the pore size and pore distribution as well as the grain size increase of fuel pellets with a stable burnup is possible without additional or complex procedure steps or devices. Before or during the milling the particle shaped fuel pellets have been added a mixture of polyethyleneglycol/polystyrene and/or polyvinylalcohol with component portions from 2 to 1 to 1 to 2 in a total amount of 0.5 - 2.0 percent in weight
