Inverse radiative source algorithm for nuclear nondestructive assays

Description

A new passive nondestructive assay algorithm is developed for characterizing a spontaneous neutron or gamma-ray source contained within a sample. Only partial current measurements at the surface of the sample are required. The simple closed-form algorithm incorporates the effects of particle scattering in the sample since it is the solution of an inverse problem of monoenergetic radiative transfer. Some numerical results are given
