Description

The four-body corrected first Born approximation is used to investigate the single-electron transfer in fast collisions of hydrogenlike projectiles with helium atoms. The initial state of the target active electron is described by a Roothan-Hartree-Fock wave function. For an illustration, total cross sections are computed for electron capture from the ground state of He by fast H atom and He+ ion. The theoretical results are in good agreement with available experimental data. copyright 1996 The American Physical Society
