Description

Decontamination of nuclear power plants in the present-day Slovak Republic (SR) as well as in the Czech Republic (CR) is, approximately from the end of the 80s, characterized by the progressive introduction of new decontamination methods and technologies that were absent in the nuclear power plants operation, until then. The decontamination efforts in NPPs depend on the requirements of check and maintenance activities on the primary circuit equipment of VVER-440 type reactors. It is also dependent upon the requirements of the decontamination for decommissioning efforts in the A-1 NPP. The current status of the decontamination operation in NPPs and on recent research activities in this area is presented
