Description
Gallium-68 DOTANOC binds to the somatostatin receptors that are seen on the surface of Neuro endocrine tumour. By injecting the tracer into patients, PET-CT scans can be done to visualize the tumours. There are two methods of labelling DOTANOC. The manual and the generator based methods are commonly used to label the DOTANOC with 68Ga. To compare the manual labelling of 68Ga-DOTANOC with ITG and ithemba generator types. Average radiochemical purity of manual labelling of ITG generator and ithemba generator were 96.02 ± 0.54 % and 97.81 ± 0.32 % respectively. There is no statistical difference between radiochemical purity of manual labelling and two generator types (p > 0.05). Our study suggests that there was no significance difference between radiochemical purity of manual labelling and two generator types. Moreover ithemba generator gives better radiochemical purity
