Description
High-spin states of 125Xe have been populated via the 116Cd(13C, 4n) reaction and were investigated by in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy with the OSIRIS Compton-suppressed spectrometer. The yrast band was observed up to a tentative (47-/2) level. Four band structures of negative parity and six band structures of positive parity were found. Four band crossings were established. In addition three bands, which are decaying into all the other structures, have been observed. One- and three-quasiparticle routhians were constructed from the experimental data. Proton and neutron configurations for the observed bands have been assigned by comparison with theoretical routhians. Total routhian surfaces have been compiled to give an indication of core deformation. Low-spin states have been compared with triaxial rotor-plus-particle calculations. (orig.)
