Annealing and gamma irradiation effects on the ESR in LiNbO3:Mg crystals

  • 1. Akademiya Nayk Ukrainy, Inst. Poluprovodnikov, Kiev (Ukraine)

Description

ESR method was used to investigate defect formation in LMNO crystals (LiNbO3, alloyed with magnesium) under the effect of thermal annealing, to study the influence of 3d-ion (Ni, Ti, Cr, Fe) additions on radiation defect formation under γ-irradiation (at T = 77 K) of such crystals, and to study Mn2+ and Ni+ESR in LMNO. Further investigations of nonresonance magneto-depending microwave absorption (MA) near the zero magnetic field in LMBO:Mn crystals, as well as in LZNO:Cr crystals and ceramics (LiNbO3:Zn(10 mol%):Cr) were conducted. A new MA signal in the form of magnetization loop in magnetics was revealed in LMNO:Mn crystals and LZNO:Cr ceramics. It was also revealed, that MA in LMNO and LZNO was characterized by temperature hysteresis. 18 refs., 5 figs., 3 tabs
