Research for evaluation of effects to tissue regeneration using irradiated natural medical materials
Description
Endotoxin (Lipopolysaccharide, LPS) pollution to natural medical materials is an important problem in virus pollution control. The LPS inactivation due to gamma-ray irradiation was investigated in existence of alginic acid. Sodium alginic acid became rapidly to a low molecule by irradiation in comparison with the case of collagen. The LPS molecules and LPS bacteria, which were spiked by the LPS, were irradiated by gamma-ray. The activity of LPS molecules and the LPS bacteria didn't change under existence of the sodium alginic acid by the irradiation. The nature of sodium alginic acid itself changed greatly by the irradiation. Effects of collagen, which was irradiated by gamma-ray, were evaluated for bone tissue regeneration. The collagen promoted significantly breeding of human bone marrow cell and it's differenciation. (M. Suetake)
