Researching and applying the MRSS method in fuel assembly mechanical design

Description

Tolerance analysis is an important part in mechanical design of fuel assemblies. With introduction of the MRSS method and the process capability, the relation between the two was discussed. The conditions of the MRSS method were limited by calculating the protrusion of the Outer Strap Spring of the Grid. The results show that the MRSS method shall be preferred used in linear tolerance analysis in fuel assemblies with numbers of dimensions by controlling process capability and considering sensitivities and modified factor. The results can be approbated both by designers and manufacturers with the MRSS method used. (authors)
