Large transverse momentum and statistical structure of fireball

Description

A constant property of the average transverse momentum is. related to the constant temperature of a fireball in the thermodynamical model,t> but it predicts that the· probability of large transverse mo~en­ tum particles is much smaller than the recent ISR data.2> This fact suggests· mass-dependence of the temperature of a fireball. If we assume that the fireball is a statistical equilibrium of urbaryons, the total energy is related to the temperature as· follows: (1)
