Introduction to thermomechanics of magnetic fluids

Description

This book contains primary information on the structure, the physical and the simplest mathematical magnetic fluids (MF) models which is necessary to solve the mechanics and convective transfer problems. The most important experimental results are discussed. The authors endeavor to present a consistent and understandable consideration of the basic mechanisms of MF and field interactions that are already the developed concepts, as well as to show their effect on MF behavior in particular situations. Two mathematical MF models are used in the work. One of them is based on the assumption of equilibrium MF magnetization in arbitrary dynamic processes. The basic presumptions of this model are formulated by Neuringer and Rosensweig. The phenomena due to magnetization departure from equilibrium are interpreted within the low-frequency approximation
