Numerical inversion of the problem of moments

  • 1. Nationaal Inst. voor Kernfysica en Hoge-Energiefysica (NIKHEF), Amsterdam (Netherlands)

Description

A mathematical introduction is given on the moment problem. Explicit examples demonstrate how the moment problem may arise in physics. For the case of deep inelastic scattering three methods of inversion, suitable for numerical treatment are described in detail. Their relative merits are compared. (orig.)
