Vacuum control system for the MLI model 1.2-400 Synchrotron Light Source

Description

A new vacuum control system has been developed for the NMI Model 1.2-400 Synchrotron Light Source. The choice of industrial programmable controllers provides expansion capability and the ability to adapt to the profusion of off-the-shelf components. The MLI synchrotron vacuum control system can easily expand to include this diversity, as the ring and user beamline work-stations are expanded. Downtime and repairs are minimized by using readily available modules. The MLI synchrotron vacuum control system can interface to any main accelerator control system, reducing the main computer software loading, and maintaining operator response speed at a much lower cost than a custom system
