Description
The stuctural arrangement of the graphite moderator for the reactor cooled, e.g., with carbon dioxide provides a group of graphite blocks piled up in layers one above the other. They are oriented in such a way that round channels for fuel elements as well as narrow cutouts between the single layers fit on each other. Through the cutouts the coolant flows under pressure. In order to prevent long-time dimensional changes because of high irradiation doses causing crystal distortions the blocks are produced by pressing deformation. By this method the ratio of two macroscopic coefficients of thermal expansion measured in two perpendicular directions (ratio of isotropy) between -1960C and +200C is kept smaller than 1.2. The arrangement of the graphite blocks parallel to the axis of the arrangement in the direction of pressure-shaping is especially suited. (DG)

Der z.B. mit Kohlendioxid gekuehlte Reaktor weist einen Graphitmoderator-Strukturaufbau auf. Dieser sieht eine Gruppe von Graphitbloecken vor, die in Lagen aufeinandergestapelt sind. Sie sind so ausgerichtet, dass sowohl Rundkanaele fuer Brennelemente als auch schmale Aussparungen zwischen den einzelnen Lagen aufeinanderpassen. Durch die Aussparungen stroemt das Kuehlmittel unter Druck. Um Langzeit-Dimensionsaenderungen aufgrund hoher Bestrahlungsdosen, die Kristallverformungen hervorrufen, zu verhindern, werden die Bloecke durch Pressverformung hergestellt. Hierdurch wird das Verhaeltnis 'Isotopieverhaeltnis' der in zwei zueinander senkrechter Richtungen gemessenen makroskopischen Waermeausdehnungsbeiwerte zwischen -1960C bis +200C auf kleiner als 1,2 gehalten. Insbesondere ist die Anordnung der Graphitbloecke parallel zur Achse des Aufbaus in Pressrichtung geeignet. (DG)Files
