Behavior of Frank-loops under stress environment

Description

To investigate the behaviors of Frank-loops under stress environment, molecular dynamics simulations of compression processes were carried out for copper lattices containing one Frank-loop. The results showed that both interstitial and vacancy type Frank-loops became sources of dislocation under stress, and accompanying unfaulting process, the Frank-loops were broken up instead of becoming perfect loop
